I am working with my 15 month black lab at the moment and about to start pattern blinds. Are there any good areas in the Dallas area where you can effectively run 150-200 yard pattern blinds? I am trying to avoid public soccer fields due to the "no leash" law and (almost more importantly) other distractions, but if that's my best bet, then so be it. Would love any suggestions.
The goal would be to find something within 20 minutes of my home. Let me know if you know of anything.

Check out Samuel farms in Sunnyvale. There's a huge field on the north side of hwy 80. There's a pretty good pond too

I did most of our T work and pattern blinds at Norbuck Park, north of White Rock Lake. It is a public park, but if you wait until it gets cooler outside, the park is basically deserted. There is also a big open field on top of Flag Pole Hill and along the creek below FPH. Might have been lucky, but I've had police officers drive by many times and never mentioned leash laws.

I train daily at Norbuck in the evenings doing t-work and wagon wheel casting (I actually train in the "non-park" side of the area...so on the west side of the parking lot), and will also go to the top of Flag Pole Hill and down by the creek. I haven't had any issues with cops yet either. I was planning on doing pattern blinds at Norbuck but was hoping for some other options that I might be missing that had fewer people. Some days it's pretty vacant, and other days it's pretty busy.

It's a few minutes away from us- but Stoney Hollow Park in Plano is usually pretty empty and has a nice pond for water work.

Check out Lone Star Hunter Retriever Club. $35 a year and they have 2 places to train. Wiley and Royce City.
