I didn't realize that it was supposed to rain so we're sitting here watching it rain. It's 12 degrees colder here than in Granbury when I left a bit ago. Was gonna scrub it but figured I already woke up. Pretty sure there is a cold front attached to this system.

We looked at our field in the rain near Breckenridge but nothing was flying. We'll try later.

We sat in the truck until the rain tapered off at 9:30. Had my limit by 10 and have been sitting here on the tailgate watching tons of them go back and fourth.

We're hunting North of Breckenridge by the prison.

Made it out just south of Breckenridge this evening. We got a few but the guy put way too many guys in the field so couldn't shoot most of the time. Apparantly the other field had no birds so they put them on ours. Once they left I got some. Game warden stopped by. 20 guys on 30 acres was ridiculous. 6 guys, 8 birds and 5 of those were me. More people showed up and left due to crowd and a few of our group stopped hunting after getting hit too many times.

we had a great time after the rain let up

we're hunting a huge field, and we had enough hunters, but not too many
only got 8 but it was great fun for me and the boy

we had alot of Spanish birds yesterday, smaller and with the brown chest

Just got done hunting this morning. Took 6 guys out and left with most everyone limited. Those that didn't just weren't hitting stuff. I did notice my entire bag today was 14 normal dove and 1 white wing. The last few times I have hunted there it was pretty much the opposite. Tons of white wings and a few mourning. Might be a good indication of a shift going on but tough to really say.

Our buddy booked it at Paloma Pachanga, he had hunted there before with a corporate event and I think he thought this would be the same way. There was no shortage of birds but they were high fliers as they already knew the routine. I felt like it was way overpriced for what should have been a $50-60 per gun hunt. We went up for a buddies birthday and went to see REK at the Floores Country Store as well. I don't usually pay to hunt for dove because we have plenty at our place, but not much of a option when the south zone isn't open yet.

My guys did pretty good this morning. Only couple of limits but several with 6-10 birds. It was a pretty decent weekend as far as bird numbers.

Yea, that's way too many guys in 30 acres, unsafe for sure.

Birds started moving around Waco. We took a limit on public land.
