Just lost our lease of 8 yrs. and until everything gets worked out amongst the owners family we will not be getting our money back. Any recommendations on a low cost father son hunt or tips where to look? Want to make sure my son has a great hunting experience this season and I have never been on a day/guided hunting trip. Thanks for your time and help!

I think it all depends on how much you want to spend. Do you want just a Doe? Do you want a Buck that has to be a certain measurement? Do you just want him to get a Buck and it can be even a 4, 6 or 8 point? Do you fancy lodging and meals? Where you hunt depends mostly on you. There are plenty of people on here that can help you out on any of these.

I would like for him to get a buck and some hogs but not really picky. Really just want him to have a great time! If possible $1000 or less and doesn't need to have lodging / meals as long a hotel is fairly close. I already signed him up for the texas parks and wildlife drawings but will definitely look into the texas youth program. Thanks for the info so far!! MR. Williams, I will give you a call this evening after work @6. This

I've been taking my boy on public land hunts to sharpen his skills. We do have our place but I want him to get some experience on hunting in places he's not familiar with and learn what to look for while hunting. He has a great time even when we don't take anything because our main focus is on the hunt not the kill for now.
Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.
