I am going to have a record acorn crop on my land this this year. I set up a new blind in grove of white oaks, just off a creek. Skeeters will be heavy so I am hoping its cold fast this year. Normally acorns have dropped and gone by late November.
I would suggest if you have white oaks where you hunt, give them a look see.

I have found one tree on my place with acorns and it is close to my house. It has dropped a whopping 10 or so acorns already. Can't see many more than that left in it. I did see one other tree with a handful of acorns back in June.

The white oaks are the place to be when they start dropping. Bring your thermacell and hunt as soon as they start dropping. up

My live oaks, blackjack and post oaks are loaded here in Wise county as well, live oaks have been falling some, for about a week already. Haven't checked the red oaks yet.

Acorns are dropping in Hamilton Co. I might turn feeders back some to save corn and keep the pigs from getting it. It is earlier than last year so maybe bow season will be better around feeders.

Yes, I think it is earlier this year, at least for my live oaks. The post and blackjacks are still small, but the live oaks are raining deer feed.

I'm in southern Hamilton and coryell.. Same thing down here.. It reminds of 2012 when we had a bumper crop.. Google earth showed a perfect yellow circle around our feeders..
Looks like they'll fall early but could be a difficult early season.

Not a huge crop in Montague County but the nuts are pretty big.

In Menard County we have a ton of acorns. They started dropping about a month ago (seems earlier than normal) and have been dropping a lot over the last week. Protein consumption is about half what it was the previous weeks.

Well, I thought the live oaks where dropping good 2 weeks ago, shoot, sounds like hail in the woods this weekend. Can't find a mast tree without deer tracks around it right now, they will look like pigs by Nov 1st!

Nice size on the live oak acorns this year as well, post oaks and a few blackjacks dropping too.

Live oak mast

I thought I was going crazy thinking they were dropping early but at my house and lease, they are on the ground everywhere.

Liveoaks are dropping big time. Looks like candy on the ground. Redoaks will be dropping about a week before gun opener, naturally realmad
