I got an invite to hunt East of Hondo tomorrow afternoon. Hoping there'll be a lot of birds.

We went in castroville last weekend and didn't see many where we were. Hopefully you have better luck. We shot 13 birds between the 3 of us.

I hate to be a "stick-in-the-mud" but I don't think the dove season is even open around Hondo tomorrow afternoon (Thursday Sept 8)...please correct me if I am wrong!

Hondo is in medina county, it's dove season there, just not special white wing area at the moment. Outdoor Annual- a hunters best friend!

No problem, people have helped me out many times on this forum. Do read the OA if you get a chance. Really is interesting. Good luck, be safe.

Yeah as long as your north of 90 you're good, I drove through there last week and well as usual in town they were thick.

We stopped at the McDonalds in Hondo last monday (labor day), coming back from Yancey, I swear just sitting in the drive thru line we must've seen about 300 birds fly over.

We had a good hunt yesterday afternoon. Lots of birds. The other 3 in my group stayed and hunted this morning, I got a real good report from them.

I hunted Hondo Tuesday and the place we were hunting was swarming with white wings. Sunflowers just northwest of mummes.

We were across the road from mummies to the west. Nice open mesquite flat bordering a sunflower field

Hunted Paloma Pachanga twice on opening weekend and have never seen so many white wings. Limits both days within an hour, but could have very easily have gone out right at 5pm and taken a limit within a few minutes—birds everywhere, flying low and slow.

Curious to know how this past weekend was though...hopefully still birds out.
