This was our first heli hog hunt near some grain fields. We are helping farmers with the eradication of the vermin. We might be having a good time doing it. i do not think you can beat killing hogs from the air or with thermal.

We have been hunting these fields since the crops produced the grain. We switched to night hunting about a month before harvest. We have been 10 times and I wish I had a mini DVR for the first 7 hunts. They were the best. 30 to 40 hogs a night. Things have dropped since the harvest. We are down to about a dozen hogs a night right now. I am working on those videos.

I'd rather stalk up on a pig or a sounder any day over the heli hunt. Wouldn't pass up a chance if it was free but ain't wasting my money to do it.

I agree with you Sapper. But it is a great experience. If you have the land, you can hire an R22 (2 Seater) for $300.00 an hour. An R44 (4 Seater) is approaching $500/hr. I recommend the 2 seater. You can't shoot from both sides of the bigger chopper. The guided hunts for thousands are too high for me too.
