Did you find the deer and have them tested?

Found the little buck 2 days after that pic. Yes found them both. No, I didn't have them tested. But the symptoms are pretty classic. Swollen tongue, dried blood around the mouth. hanging out by the water etc.

Pretty easy to find when the buzzards find them.

I had heard rumors of it already in late July in the San Angelo area.

Had a post on here a couple of weeks ago about 2 penned Axis that were suspected of dying from EHD. I can't find the post now.

That's a tough way for them to die.

Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.

Tough to watch too. But God forbid if I try to put one out of it's misery.

I hear you. Had one on my place with internal bleeding after being hit on the highway. Had to watch it swell up and starve to death until one day the buzzards were circling. It took 7 or 8 days before it went down.

Ha.

Yeah that's also one of the many negatives associated with the state owning all the deer. I can't protect my herd by removing and disposing of sick animals. Forced to sit and watch them die and let the disease run it's course.

Anyone who believes the BS that the state is spreading about being concerned about the population and resource should think about the above.

EHD is always going to kill more deer than CWD as well. We will all at some point suffer losses from EHD (whether we know it or not), and I'll bet the vast majority of us won't ever see CWD. But the state couldn't give to squirts about EHD.
