I saw well over a hundred pigs at one time, too many to count.
Don't know if I have video of that. We had aprox thirty to forty
in the wheat field we were sitting in, and across the fence but
still on the same ranch, other herds which could not be counted.
We corned the pasture we dove hunted in after the the days dove hunt
and came back around 11 PM. The hogs were there, we'd blast at a bunch,
they'd run off and all would return in fifteen minutes or so and regroup
on the corn. First night ended when we ran out of ammo.
We ended up night 1 with only four carcasses but the buzzards the
following day showed many others made it to the brush and expired.
There were several other wheat fields we never glassed and those were
likely loaded with more pigs.
Our dove outfitter will be offering night thermal hunts soon. I'll
have no problem paying up once or twice a year. I'll take more ammo
next time and stay out all night. Like a case or two.
The dove hunt was like a dream, thousands of birds, maybe tens of
thousands. The pigs were of an equal magnitude relatively speaking.
I was told the coyotes in winter out number the deer so that would
be a good trip as well.
