I am going to have a record acorn crop on my land this this year. I set up a new blind in grove of white oaks, just off a creek. Skeeters will be heavy so I am hoping its cold fast this year. Normally acorns have dropped and gone by late November.
I would suggest if you have white oaks where you hunt, give them a look see.

I have found one tree on my place with acorns and it is close to my house. It has dropped a whopping 10 or so acorns already. Can't see many more than that left in it. I did see one other tree with a handful of acorns back in June.

The white oaks are the place to be when they start dropping. Bring your thermacell and hunt as soon as they start dropping. up

Cass County. More rain this summer than normal at my land as well.
I threw some pumpkins away last fall in a small clearing, the seeds grew on their own, just one of those years.

we have lots of post oaks on our place in San Saba county and it looks to be a record year, we've owned it for over 30 years.

Acorns are dropping in Hamilton Co. I might turn feeders back some to save corn and keep the pigs from getting it. It is earlier than last year so maybe bow season will be better around feeders.

Yes, I think it is earlier this year, at least for my live oaks. The post and blackjacks are still small, but the live oaks are raining deer feed.

Our live oaks and red oaks in Mills County are below average.
