I have a good dove hunting spot where I grew up about 2 hours away from where I live (Plano area). I was thinking of spending the $48 and getting a APH permit this year and checking out some of the closer places when I cant make it down south. Anyone have any experience with the spots out in the Honey Grove or Royce City areas? Trying to decide if it is worth the time and effort. Thanks

I can't say that I have experience in those areas but planning to check them out this year. Figure for $48 gets me a lot of choices and a bad day hunting beats a good day working. Lol...I'm in Garland if you want to go check it out together sometime just shoot me a pm. Be nice to meet a few fellow hunters.

Life is short...Enjoy the RYDE !

I scouted the Tate Farm North of Terrell. I did not see any dove on the property. I was there at sunset. I am going to try one of the areas near Greenville on opening day. For the price of the AHP, this is a great value. Good luck.

How was the Greenville area? I haven't been out there this year but last year was very slow Dove hunting.

I hunted Cooper last weekend for an afternoon... Saw one bird close enough to shoot and got it.. that was it. Someone else who was there hunting shot one in the morning and one in the evening.

I also hit Farmersville one afternoon and got one. Doesnt seem like a whole lot of movement yet this year

I've been to Farmersville, Tate, the two on 1138, most of the Collin, Hunt, Rockwall county locations....haven't seen any birds flying. I was advised to go west. I've run into guys at most of those spots and they claim they're getting birds on the days I'm not there....hard to believe since I've seen none either morning or dusk hunts. Any different experiences? lemmeknow!
