Hopefully, I will have a scimitar horned oryx next month and would like to get the hide tanned. I don't want a mount or anything, but just the flat tanned hide. Any recommendations on who I could take it to near DFW?
Thank you!

X's 2 on North Texas Tannery. Dropped off 6 axis hides yesterday. Great work for an even better price, but he told me 6 months before they will be ready.

My taxidermist switched tanneries to a company in Michigan that is just amazing. They come out extremely soft and flexible. the inside of the hide is white and I can't imagine anything looking cleaner. They come to his shop in Gilmer TX to pick up his hides, along with a bunch of other stops, then when they are done, they deliver them to his shop. It's just amazing what they do.

Yikes I just dropped off some hides at North Texas Tannery based on the recommendation of several people. I hope they come out ok. He seemed like a nice guy and he did say it would be at least 6 months before it would be ready. He took me on a tour of his place and he had an impressive pile of hides he was working on.

Do y'all drop off your hides personally or is there some method of shipping them that could possibly work out? After searching around quite a bit I keep coming back to this place but sure dont want to drive 250 miles 1 way 4 times (or at least 2). And tried some tanning myself and very quickly came to the conclusion that a Pro is needed for that task. I have wasted some really good hides by not knowing where to bring them. . .

I took mine out of the freezer, put them into a styrofoam cooler along with my info and a check and some dry ice. Put the cooler in a cardboard box and sent them UPS.

If ur n Texas shipping is usually over night to another place n Texas. Ship on Monday. Double bag wrap some insulation around the frozen hide and bag box and ship on a Monday. Just let robert know it's coming.
