Will it run through spin feeder ok? Can get premixed for $8/per 50. Thinking about trying it out.

Yes it spins out. Guy on my lease tried it and hogs love it. They took over the feeder with the mix in it.

it will run fine through a spin feeder. Deer do like it as well or at least the ones on my place like it.

I fed it a few years ago out of spincast feeders and it threw just fine. Funny thing was the deer would eat all the corn and leave most of the roasted beans on the ground. Maybe they didn't need the protein from the beans or perhaps since I ran fed choice pellets year round they preferred those. That corn/roasted beans mix sure did smell good, though.

I would not run it all year, it is best Jan-May when they need the protein. Turkeys also love the soybeans. Corn is candy and carbs to deer that is why they will eat it most of the year but they really need the carbs Sept-Feb for the fat layer for heat and for chasing does. Soybeans are like 18% protein which is a really good natural source but like mentioned above competes with protein pellets. Which ever is more common in your area is what the deer will prefer. I use to mix the 50/50 mix with my pellets and had good luck that way.

I've only ever ran corn. Hunt a small place so just wanted to offer something different to the deer in hopes of drawing them in. I believe the mix I'm looking at is a 70/30 that's 16% protein. Is it pointless to run it this time of year? It's not really costing any more than just pure corn.

Its not point less in fact it is a good idea just trying to help you understand when the protein is needed. I think the roasted soybeans tastes good to them and at $8 a bag that is as cheap if not cheaper than buying corn. You will attract hogs and coons.

The one thing I will caution on is deer and hogs do not like change. I would put out a small free choice feeder like a T-Post Feeder and watch their reaction. If it is a small place you could slow the deer traffic down simply because something has changed in their routine.

Well haven't ran feeders since February so they aren't turned back on yet anyway. This weekend will be up and running again.

Can I ask where you are getting it for that cheap?

That's a great price on that mix. I've been running that in my homeplace feeder for a few months. Before that, it was a corn/protein pellet mix. I think there's more activity with the soybean. And yes, a few more pigs, but for now, they seem to just drift through every now and again.

Is it just soybean or roasted soybean in the mix? If roasted let me know where it is and I will go get a couple of pallets.

Not around Austin, unless you want to special order like 2k lbs and it is expensive.

Put up a pen using panels, that will keep hogs out.

I've been using a corn/roasted soy bean mix the past 7 years made by Micobe Feed in Hamilton. Bought 300lbs Friday at there plant for $10.25/bag. Deer are highly attracted to it, once that roasted soy bean aroma floats over the woods, they are there in less than a day! Also works well with turkey and of course hogs!

It is roasted soybean. It's 16% protein with 70/30 corn/soybean ratio. The stuff we got is called Buck Ration. We put out 1000 pounds today, can't wait to check the cams in a couple weeks.

I just put it in my feeder last week and before that hadn't seen any bucks on my feeder. Just checked it Saturday and had pictures of 5 or 6 bucks at me feeder. Unfortunately, the cameras at my buddies feeders didn't work so I can't say if it was coincidence or the buck ration for sure but as of right now I'm a believer in it.

I'm sticking with my feeding program. banana2

I Feed Indian Corn. The deer love it and all the colors make them stay at the feeder longer.

If Waller is close to Brenham for you then Waller Rice drier sells roasted mix or straight roasted.
