I hunt in Woodson. It was the worst opening day/weekend that we've had in 14 years.

Opening day I got a limit. Friday was a pouring rain the night before and could not get in the gate without getting stuck in the North Field Friday morning. Didn't hunt at all Friday. Hunted Saturday afternoon and got 3. Wasn't the best. Lots of in the field pressure with people walking the feeding areas not letting the birds feed. You gotta let them feed or they will not come back. Not to mention the storms leading up to opening day. Heck we got drenched trying to leave Thursday evening. It's dove season, right? This is what it does. roflmao

Our group had a blast. I spent a lot of time working my young Cocker Spaniel. He never lost a bird. Even found a few for others.

It was below average in Murray this year as well. Several of us got limits on the first day, but I don't think anyone did on the 2nd. The rain on Thursday night didn't do us any favors either.

Rain is definitely messing things up. I struggled to hit double digits, just nothing stirring.

Puffin did great by us.
Hunting just outside Olney, four of use were only a few birds shy of 16 limits after 4 days. Fields were great and beautifully prepared.

We ate Dove poppers for dinner Thursday night to keep us under the possession limit.

Mr Green was making rounds late in the day and we visited with him a few minutes. He seems to be doing great.

We all need to practice Whoa more.
