So as the title states when did you take your biggest or what time frame have you taken the most deer? At work I am not allowed to take vacation from Oct 22-Jan 10 so I try to hunt as much as I can in the early season. I'll still get a day or two off after Oct 22nd and even though I haven't shot much after those dates, my cameras usually start showing a lot of bucks I've never seen before starting around Halloween.
So what dates have been the best for you for hunting?

My greatest success has always correlated with the rut and post rut. My largest bucks were taken post rut when they came to corn and presented shot opportunity.

Mid to late December is the rut on my lease, the bucks run around crazy.
If I send my neighbors a text and ask them to give me feedback on my lawn and plant rye into a giant dong pattern, I'm probably going to get some less than positive feedback. Same goes here.

Around my area the bucks seem to really start moving around the 2nd week of Nov. That is when I've always seem my most action. Rattled in a nice 10 pt and killed it last yr.

I've always had my best luck between Christmas and New Years. Got 5 nephews that hunt my place, I concentrate on getting them a deer or two in their freezers before I even get serious about it. They're usually done by Thanksgiving and more into watching football than hunting. I give the place a few weeks to quiet down then get after it hard solo.

Best deer I've killed was within the first 30 minutes of light on Opening Morning of gun season 2 years ago here in Callahan county. Best bet is to hunt as often as possible because you just never know!

Mid November seems to be the time I take most of my decent bucks. I hunt in northeast Texas and that seems to be the peak of the rut.

90% of all my deer have been taken between 11:00am - 2:20 pm. While I have tons of activity at dawn, I like to wait to see what else passes by the diner. Don't get me wrong, I'll shoot a nice buck if it comes to the table. I've found the afternoon feeding really is a good time while other hunters are either going back to camp for lunch or fixing something they will kick the deer up and many time stop by for a meal. I take my lunch and stay from dawn to dusk everyday during hunting season.
I Feed Indian Corn. The deer love it and all the colors make them stay at the feeder longer.

Never taken any of my deer while sitting at the house or at work. The more you hunt the higher your chances are for success. I have killed deer everyday of the season. The key to success that particular successful day was that I was hunting and the deer were moving. Hunting in archery or early general season before the rut is really good for patterning bucks still on feed. Pre-rut is great to rattle or catch bucks moving around in their territory checking for does. The rut is great if you have the does. Post-rut is really good to rattle to catch a rut crazed buck still looking for a doe or bucks moving back to feed in bad weather. There is no bad time to hunt, just bad if you catch the day the deer aren't moving. Early season I would set up as many TC as you have on rubs, scrapes, natural food sources, trails around feeders or WATER. Water being the key early season location. Let those TC do your preseason scouting so you know where to concentrate your limited days at. Good luck.

My 3 biggest were all taken during bad weather/high wind when other hunters would not be out there. Rut usually few days before Thanksgiving is exciting. I just go whenever work/family allows me to get away and then I hunt long and hard the whole time. I can sit and rest back home. I'm usually first out and last back and camp and often pack water/meal make full days in the field.

Early in the season, if its hot, you can bet that the deer won't be moving much (just very early or late evening.)South of San Antonio, I like mid December till close of season for a BIG buck. Calm or just light breeze with cool/cold over cast mornings and drizzle then you can bet I'll be on stand all day. You know that good deer hunting weather. You just gotta be out there huntin!

My mind is growing old so the biggest isn't so clear anymore. But the most is something I won't forget. Back in the late 80's or early 90's, I don't recall anymore, I got a call at work from a man who needed help on a private cable tv system. It was for the sub-division of Berry Creek out by Georgetown. I went out and spent a day in the headend, another day on the plant. Was back in his office discussing future plans and seen the plat with about 230 acres undeveloped yet. I struck a bargain with the owner, no bill for my work in exchange for whacking deer on the 230 acres. They were all over his golf course so it was a good deal for both of us. And, I could bring friends. Opening morning myself and some amigos strung up 17 deer on an oak branch, it was a very cold morning. Sheriff showed up around 10 AM in a short sleeved uniform, no coat. Got out, we chatted about one minute and he said "looks like you boys done pretty good" got in his car and left. We hunted Berry Creek for a few years after that. Wish I had pic of those deer that morning. Seems crazy today what we did back then. In the following years, the horns got better and better.
Those who give up liberty for security deserve neither.

The second week of the season. I was in a climbing stand way the heck up in a tree. A cold front was blowing in and I was up there most of the day in the driving rain, freezing mt kester off. As soon as the rain let up about 5:30 PM, a buck came in crossing directly down wind. He got a whiff of the doe pee I had set out and stopped dead in his tracks. I thought he winded me but then he came in at a trot, nose to the ground.
He is now an honored guest in my den.
