If I buy one of these rifles, can I just buy another rifle barrel and swap it myself? Or does something have to be adjusted by the company or a gunsmith? If thats the case, then it seems it may not be as "flexible" as it sounds.
any and all information on these single shot rifles would be awesome.
thanks guys

Not sure about the exsact model your looking at but I know I have a Rossi single shot I got when I was little it was a .22 and a .410 and it was easy to switch the barrels your just unscrew the swivel and I will come right off and you could replace the barrel

I own a NEF single shot, and have 5 different barrels for it. They are easy to change, but the factory says that each barrel, must be fitted to each receiver. Their claim that barrels from rifle to rifle are not interchangeable. I hade to send my receiver to the factory, and they made the barrels I ordered to fit it. I am not impressed with mine, fired brass sticks in the chambers, and accuracy is nothing to write home about. Just my 2 cents.

I think NEF barrells have to be individually headspaced to your frame by the factory. The only SS bbls that are off the shelf interchangable, that I'm aware of, are the TC Contender an Encore series, from what I've read about them.

With the Rossi's there are two models of top breaks; the Single Shot and the Wizard. Supposedly the Single Shot are not designed to be interchangable but there is a barrel market on places like eBay that proves it wrong. There are two sizes of receivers and two barrel forearm lug patterns so you must make sure you know what you are buying. The Wizard was designed to swap barrels.
The Single Shots had very limited cartridge offerings but the Wizard list was rather extensive. Both designs are no longer in production. Any new rifles you see are old stock and part support from Rossi is nonexistent.

Rifle to rife not interchangeable? I just thought it was shotgun to rifle not...rife to rifle doesn't make sense.

go to graybeard.com/handirifle many folks there. many of the rifle to rifle barrels interchange, some need a little work, you just have to try them. handi's work best with rimed cartrages, rimless seem to stick.
