With rain forecasted for the San Antonio area this weekend who is hunting rain or shine? If you do hunt in the rain do you do anything differently decoy or set-up wise?

I'm sitting here with thunder and rain all around, and still hear gunfire all around. My experience is the birds don't move as much in the rain, but I guess others are having different results. For me, sitting in the open with a gun in hand, and lightning in the area doesn't seem to be a good idea, so I guess its Miller Time.Maybe tomorrow!

We're hunting out here in Breckenridge and it's rained on and off on us since I unhitched the RV around 1500 this afternoon. I got my limit this afternoon without any real issue other than snapping 50 rounds to get 15 birds. I'm shooting a 16g and 15/15 would be a much more preferential number.
I did notice when the rain would stop the birds would move. And they would move in front of the rain. Leaving the field to go back to the trees and then back again.

Really kinda waste of time. Last year over here near Brenham, TX a shower came up storming, birds just shut off. will deer hunt, but birds can wait. I figure there's plenty of other days to got when the weather is better. Trying mojo dove first time this year, couple wind doves, one battery op mojo.
Sofar no return yet, thing we weather change. Very few birds here near Lake Somerville.
hunt safe all.....

I've had some very good dove hunting in a drizzle. I like to walk hunt and flush the birds. They tend to fly low and, once flushed, don't fly very far. Watch em land and flush them again! It's different but its a fun hunt for me.

We hunted a field yesterday afternoon north of the Breckenridge/ Woodson storm... it must have pushed birds that way...lots of big groups of birds came through.
