Over 1500 dove were taken off of a 40 acre field of my friends last season and to my knowledge none had a band. I don't know if I'd notice it if I did shoot one. I need to start checking.

I shot one with a leg band two years ago. I went online and reported the #. It said the dove was banded that same year in July in Nebraska.

A buddy of mine found one on a bird that had been hit by a car. His only band! lol

My dad helped ban 1,500 morning doves in Colorado this year and 1,000 last year. It is one of the projects they do in my home town area. My little brother hunted about 3 miles from where they caught and banded the doves and shot like 7 banded doves this morning.

It really kind of ticks me off, I have hunted for 30 plus years and have only shot 1 wing clip banded dove. It was a white wing put out for a wedding. My little brother has hunted for only 2 years and has shot over 50 banded birds.
