Been working on this project for some time. I wanted to see if this would actually be purchased by hunting and fishing community. The price point im trying to keep at or below $60. I tried for $40, but due to estimated volume and cost of specialty super fibers i wasnt. I still need to test for sting proof like on wasps/bees

What would yall rate as most important to least important.

Cut resistance, water resistance, sting proof, scent cover.

Would you Buy?

Lil chit shouldnt you be in school? With superfibers Its really easy to make scent controled clothing, water resistant, cut resistant/proof, and from testing mosquito bite stopping. Maybe brush up on chemistry.

Lol, my class starts at 12:30. Been out since 10:45, waiting. I did not know that you could have like ALL of those attributes in one clothing type: water/scent yes, but never even seen any cut resistant. Truth be told I don't pay much attention to that stuff.

This sounds like the $1000 Bartlein-barreled .25 MOA rifle thread...

That said, does it breath if it's water resistant? A 55gal trashbag would do most of that but it would be a sauna.

My big question is how quiet will it be? At that price point, hopefully they'll sell like hotcakes.

The quietness is a challenge, and im messing with different ultra thin super fabrics that would be conducive to heat dispersion and quiteness.

Hardly from it. It might be an epic failure i have done a lot of research, but combining fabrics might be the Achilles heel. Im going to put a poll like this in as many outdoor sites to gauge interest. Id have to pull out of my savings to get this flying.

I'd buy it in a second at that price point. Probably at twice that. But if it's doable I have to wonder why one of the big clothing makers hasn't done it. Seems that with their almost unlimited R and D budget they would have made it work by now.

But I hope you make it work.

I've wondered this myself. I think the heat dissaption vs quiteness is my biggest dilemma.

I am all for miracle clothing. All that protection sounds amazing. So what are the compromises? Noise was mentioned. You are trying to keep cost down. Comfort? Durability?

I would be interested, at $40-$60 it is in the price range of other hunting clothes without those properties.

You asked,
"t would yall rate as most important to least important.
Cut resistance, water resistance, sting proof, scent cover."
That order is good
And if I could walk through the Greenbrier without snagging I would be a happy Hunter.

The cost isn't much of the problem. Comfort and Durability are. Most of the season is pretty warm so if its going to make me hotter, I will just keep using deet and/or a thermacell and be comfortable.

Some of the new Columbia and Magellan lines of fishing\outdoors clothing are amazing. Tried to have a pair of pants hemmed and the seamstress said it was so strong it broke a couple different needles. The nylon Magellan shirts and pants have held up well in the cactus prickly-pear and because they wic moisture away from your body you stay cooler in the heat and warmer in the cold.

They make ammo specifically for hunting for a reason! nidea

Heck, Academy has camo T-shirts on sale this week for $5-6 each but I'm thinking I'll do the usual and go check out the 2nd hand clothing store. That's where I get most of my hunting clothes!

Of course, all I do is hunt hogs in central Texas so I don't really need anything fancy. stir
