One of my close friends has been making knives for a few years now. He, and I, are into the utilitarian type devices in life, function over fashion, but dig stuff that not only is 100% usable but looks tits, too! I explained to him an EDC I'd like, told him the pertinent details, & I asked him to make it for me a few months ago and I'd buy it from him. Well, my 40th birthday was yesterday and he surprised me with this, which was exactly how I wanted it!!! It's an EDC made from heat treated Cpm S35VN with Micarta handle, a fire starter/striker that's removable and a Tech lock (sp?). I really dig it. Yes, the pics suck. Yall's thoughts?

Yes he is! I know next to nothing about knives. I just told him a black blade, Micarta handle & kydex sheath & he knocked it out of the park!
He's also a firefighter & he has another firefighter making his handles right now. They just came up w/a special handle material that'll be a big hit among FF's (I don't know if he'd want me saying any more than that until he starts selling them). I'm glad y'all like it as I'm really impressed w/it.

That is a nice utilitarian design with clean grinds and overall great execution. I love the natural canvas micarta and looks like micarta pins and tube also.
