I knew he was coming in but didn't know he was that big. I knew the feeder was going through corn way to fast and now I know why. He was banging his head off the legs shaking corn out. Dropped him with a shot behind the ear with the 308. Crazy thing is 7 or 8 more came in 20min later and ate the corn he knocked out before I dropped a second. He was laying right there dirt napping while they went on like nothing was up.

He was 60 inches around behind the legs which I believe puts him at around 400# My Grizzly 660cc ATV had to strain to pull him away from the feeder. THe smaller is about 100# for comparison.

Wish I had a mini DVR for the Pulsar.

Big pig for sure. Good kills. Would have really liked to see him on the hoof, he looked pretty plumpy.

When you measured him, had he been laying for a while or did you measure right after death? Only reason I ask is hogs will start to bloat incredibly fast after death and the girth measure might have been a little bigger than at first. I have never seen a 400# wild boar. That is extremely rare. And if that one below is about 100# I have to believe something went wrong in the measuring process...

He was measured about 4 hours later. He looked no different than that night. The picture in the dark with him by the feeder was 30min after the kill.

The picture of him on his side might be deceiving because the grass and weeds are high. He was every bit as wide as he was from belly to top of the back.

Im not one of those guys defending the size. I myself thought the 400 seemed heavy but the tape was 60" that I am sure. I didn't measure or weigh the small one that was purely a guess on his weight from dragging him

Regardless of the exact weight, that's a large hog. Way to go!

For sure I am not trying to pick a fight on the size of the hog, he is a biggun!

However I shot 2 decent sized hogs this weekend and within a few hours they were considerably bloated more than when initially shot. Not 20 inches of bloat within a few hours, but by the time I left the place about 12 hours later that looked like they were about to blow up they were so bloated. I would guess there was considerable bloat going on at the 4 hour mark. Doesn't matter, still a big pig!! Good one to get so you can save some corn!!

I seriously doubt 400 lbs.. Nice pig just the same. I agree with DNS, a DVR should be in your near future.

Congrats! up

Yep I needed to get to a new credit card cycle smile DVR will be on before next hunt I hope. Not sure I have any more that size running around. Camera on this feeders batteries were dead so it did not get any before during or after shots of this all going down. I was major bummed about that.

I love the DVR I got from Ultimate Nightvision. Simple to use and works great. Great pig man! That's a beast!

The actual weight doesn't matter. Doesn't make it more or less of a Trophy/accomplishment in my mind.

Clearly the pig is a mature animal (a Jumbo at that). One more out of the population, that is what matters.

Good job!

Flint.

Nice hog. I hunted the Coca Cola ranch several times, covered with hogs in Jack Co.
