Yesterday evening, 36 hours before dove season opens, the wife and I sat in the pasture overlooking the pond and freshly shreded Sudan and milo. Must have watched a thousand dove watering before sundown. This evening, 12 hours before opener, we're getting a gulley washer. Enjoy all the birds headed South you fargin South Texas bastiches.

They should still be around. We've had a lot of rain down here along the coast over the past week and the numbers continue to be insane. You should be happy that your season opens tomorrow and not 23 days from now. Good luck out there.

Sadly, the rains mean I won'the get the easy 10 minute limit via droves of dove funneling into the watering hole. And, when the mid to late September cool front pushes down we get round two with the Northern birds. Ya'll have a safe opener.
