I'm looking to go wireless. Curious to know who has tried them and what kind of service they provide. Obvioulsy they won't work everywhere, but thought I'd see what you guys have seen and used. Much obliged.

I have 3 covert verizon's, work great but hell on batteries. If your close enough to where you hunt shouldn't be a problem. Make sure to knock down tall grass around the camera to avoid getting pics of wind. Don't bother with the solar panel and re-chargeable batteries, they don't charge fast enough.

Why not put a solar panel on? I'd also invest in some Kentli rechargeables, they are definitely worth the money, even without the panel.

Covert let me "upgrade" my 2013 Code Black to their newest model so I can use their new data plans. Don't know what carrier they are piggybacking on, but if reception is there, should be great.

I have two Spartans that I have on my property and have since April. The camera and the solar panel is a little pricey at first however after that you just pick the service provider and let it go. I have the cheapest three meg which isn't a lot $ and it works for me. I have the cheapest three meg plan which isn't a lot however it works for me all month long. I love now knowing what's coming to my feeder and not having to wait until I go to my property next!
Have it text message me and also emails.

I got tired of them for two reasons. Expense and tons of texts of things I had no interest in seeing, 24/7.

Had a moultrie, and I was never able to figure out how to link up on the website.

If you want some friendly advice, get a haircut and take a bath. You wouldn't get hassled so much.

I have 2 spartans go cams through verizon. I use rechargeable batteries and switch them out about every 30 days. I use them for security on my property in east Texas. I have them programmed to send me pics in the morning and the evening so I can see that all is ok. Pics are sent text and email and I have a signif ring tone for them so i know its my cameras. I get lots of pics of deer at night which wakes me up but oh well im glad to have my place monitored live. Friend of mine and Game Warden are near by incase somebody is there. Well worth it if you ask me. While I am there hunting I plan on putting them on my feeders or scrape lines.

Tecomate is partnered with Reconyx and they are awesome cameras. Take great pictures and are very easy to use. If your interested I can check and see what kind of deal I can get on them right now. I always try to give fellow TBH/THF members a better deal.

No surprise there, given how long the typical cell phone can go without recharging. Conventional cameras can go much longer as a result of being able to go into "sleep mode" between motion detections.

Thanks Thomps, but I am sitting on some gift cards at Cabelas and was going to put them towards the camera..

I used the ltl acorn camera for a while, bought it back in 2011. At first it was OK, got tired of messing with programming the SD card for MMS, I had almost no reception where we are, so that sucked. It no longer works now so I don't know it was worth the original price of $500. I'm assuming technology has improved since then.

You said "it was OK at first" with little reception. Did you get a booster or did it occasionally send the pictures all at once?

I'm thinking hard about a wireless/cell camera, but I'm worried about the 1 bar of signal I get.

Worried about the battery life too (I hear bad things like them only taking 3500 pics on one set of batteries)

I had the same idea. Problem was I had no service at the lease. Might want to check that first. Had a buddy that was going to almost give me 3 cameras, not sure of brand. he had same problem.

I have coverts and enjoy them. Can't do much about reception. It's there or it's not but it must be att. They use att and I have Verizon but it works fine. I pay the $10 a month plan for each for 1000 pics each. As far as them taking false pics there is a setting for how sensitive you want to set them. Every now and again I have to call att because something went wrong or they sent out an update. When this happens you have to go to the camera, pull the SIM card and reset. It sucks but happens maybe once in every 5 months and I'm out there pretty often. Never had a battery issue as I made my puente connections and use solar panel, just cheaper than buying theirs. But all cameras have theirs plus and negatives

With one bar, it would never send anything.. 2 bars it was sporadic. Never got a booster. It worked perfectly with full signal tho.
