she is taking archery this year in school (9th grade) and is interested in bow hunting. If you have a youth bow not being used you want to sell or can recommend a good starter bow (compound) I'm interested in hearing from you.

Look at the Hoyt Ruckus Jr. This may be the bow she will learn on at school.

My daughter was the same as yours after the first Hunger Games movie came out. We took a beginners archery class and after she convinced me a new bow wouldn't be "another" toy which would gather dust.

After she convinced me , I took her to Cinnamon Creek Archery in Ft Worth. There she tried many bows, size weight, they measured her draw length, determined the correct pull weight, she decided on the PSE , we had the correct size and weight arrows cut and hit the range. She never looked back.

I guess, my suggestion would be to go to a great archery shop in your area, and have the same thing done I did, yes, you will pay a bit more than Bass Pro or Cabelas but it will be well worth it getting the proper set up for her. BTW I bought a bow too and we shoot together often.

As far as buying a starter bow, look on ARCHERYTALK.COM, you will find a TON of starter bows for sale VERY inexpensive. Lots of great info there too.

Good luck to her and you!!!

The Hoyt mentioned above, Diamond Infinite Edge Pro, Diamond SB-1 or Mission Craze are all good starter bows that will grow right along with her as she does with both poundage and draw length. For ladies bows that are more expensive most manufactures also make Ladies bows that are not as adjustable but fit the ladies better and have a little more performance level like Bowtec Carbon Rose, Cabela's Ladies Fortitude, Bear makes a nice one but don't remember the name.

I didn't like the draw cycle of the Ruckus as compared to my old Mission Menace. Menace and Craze have similar draws from what I recall, but the Craze is a little higher priced and velocity

I've got two diamonds that would be available. One infinite edge. one razor edge. Recent strings. Ready to Hunt. Can get you set up if interested. My oldest has confiscated one of my hoyts now that he has started to plateau and my youngest is in love with recurves.
