I haven't been here in over a year and see that there is currently a thread about the RPR here, I acquired this RPR new in box this week in .308 chamber. any advice on which weight bullet or which best factory loads work best in this particular rifle.

What you are asking for is asking someone to look into a crystal ball to know what ammo works in YOUR rifle. You won't know until you try it. Stick with the normal choices that generally shoot well. If you would like some custom loads for it with the bullet of your choice, let me know!

try the Federal Gold Medal match 168gr-175gr for accuracy and really any "premium" load should shoot really well in your RPR. try and stay away from the cheaper ammo, your rifle should shoot them well but will excel with Premium stuff. save your brass you will reload....someday...

What Chad said.

His match ammo. And if you find yourself standing in front of a shelf in a store that contains Federal Gold Medal Match, and Hornady Match, get some of each.

If it's a brand new barrel, don't judge it until it's got about 20 foulers down it.

I have several hundred rounds of Remington Core Lokts in 180 grain, does anyone shoot these heavier loads? I know recoil will be more but I have a muzzle brake on it.

If your are setting it up to hunt with that would be a good place to start.
I shoot 200gr Berger's in mine but don't plan to use it for hunting.

I have 3 cattle pastures overrun with hogs and some shots are well over 600 yards, the main reason I bought this rifle, I have several rifles in .308 including AR10s, an M1A and an old trusty Remington 788.

While Core-Lockts do a great job once they hit hide, I don't know if they'll get to 600 yards as tightly as you'd like them to. Only one way to find out, go punch paper or steel at 600 and see what happens.

Hornady 168gr bthp is what I used and had zero walk away from it no matter the distance. It's a match Bullet round but has great range of damage done.

If you plan to go long you could run the 180 Core-Lokt but I agree with Fireman might be OK might not but I would look at something like these if I did not reload my own

I am gonna try my 180 grain Core Lokts to start just to use them up, I really don't plan on shooting past 400 yards. I bought them during the last gun/ammo scare. I got so many hogs to shoot, aint a big deal.
