I have the 1st and 2nd off. Will hunt the 1st and plan to fish the 2nd. If the hunting is stellar, I'll hunt the 2nd as well.

I live in the South Zone so 10/23 opener is a ways off. I'll be driving up to the San Antonio area on 9/2 to shoot my version of the Central Zone opener. Hoping the rain holds off this week.

I'm doing some traveling but get to hunt every day through Monday. Thursday PM - Smack birds in Rising Star; hoof it back to FTW. Friday AM and PM up to Collin Co. After the PM hunt in Collin Co, I am heading to a buddy's ranch in Shackelford County. Hunt there Saturday. Watch the Aggie game somewhere and then scoot down to Rising Star again to smack birds in the afternoon (if there is a limit to fill) and hunt again on Sunday until limited out. Then fill feeders, pull camera cards, change batteries, and go to Hill County and kill birds in Itasca on Monday. My travel map looks like this:  797 miles just to chase birds. At some point, I've got to seek professional help.... Not yet though!! Hopefully by Monday afternoon, I have 75 birds killed (30 on hand) plus some bonus Eurasian/Collareds.

I'll be there. Be missing my old lab though. Ugh. That first season without a good dog is the pits. Won't ever forget the sting of that first day and not having my Ace around. Push through; it gets better. Been five years now and I am about ready to get a pup.

as an ex-trucker, I love road trips...
and I've been thru all the areas you mentioned...
I'll be staying home here in Medina Co.
and house to fields and our gang's camp is less than a dozen miles ...

We hunt every Sept 1st!!!! come hell or high water, unless good man upstairs has called us! We miss our Scout this year,
lost her July 4th..... hunt without her this year.......
Thank God he gave us Labs, and retrievers to hunt with us!!!!////
