How can I find what the original retail price was of an Colt pistol manufactured in 1965?

Look in some of the old Shooters Bibles and Gun Digest. They usually have MSRP listed in those type of publications.

Lots of old firearms catalogue reprints are available online.

This site has a 1965 Colt catalog reprint for less than $7.

ColtAutos(dot)com might also have a scan of what your looking for.
