Here in the DFW area some of the Red Oaks are already starting to drop. Live Oaks are still growing and will be about another month before the first ones hit the ground. The Burr Oaks are only half developed right now. Overall the crop is not going to be near as good around here as last year but bumper crops only happen every 2-3 years anyway and last years was epic!!

This is my first year in Southwest Texas and the lack of real trees is looking pretty good right now.

Our place in Freestone county and my uncles place in Lampasas county are both loaded.....

Be hard pressed to get much action around the feeders until late in the season...

White Oaks around Walker Co. have a few. Not much. My red oaks have almost nothing. It was a very hot and dry summer followed by 12 inches of rain in the past 7 days!

Post oaks and white oak around the house are loading up, haven't went to check the live, or red oaks yet. I don't mind the land providing extra natural food, I will deal with it, saves me a $ grin

In Austin, my neighbors red oak is starting to drop. Went for a walk with the dog yesterday and live oaks we passed were dropping a lot. Got down to the park and the pecans are so loaded the branches are drooping under the weight.

Saw a bachelor group of bucks under a live oak on Monday evening chowing down in Brown County. Two were bucks that we are looking to shoot this season.

Liveoaks are dropping, heavy. Spanish oaks are gonna' drop right before gun season, as usual. My best stand to hunt will be up on a Spanish oak ridge. Works every year. Does make it difficult if you're just hunting a feeder, though.

White Oaks in east Texas are loaded, record crop this year on my land. I set up a blind right off a 100 year old oak, watching a nice grove of Oaks. I will have to be very still, its a tight area, but I am hopeful a mature buck will make his way in there. The acorns seem to be dropping early, I expect a lot on the ground opening weekend.

My pasture in Collingsworth county looks like you dumped them out of 50 pound feed bags around the shinnery mots. Won't be much activity around the feeders for a while.

I am wondering if the acorns will be there and gone by opening day of gun season on my land. Over a month to go there are a lot on the ground and more dropping everyday.
