I'm starting my Christmas list early! Haha. I've always shot a pump shotgun, but never owned a semi. Looking to get one for Christmas. I like the Beretta A300 from what I've read and the feel of the gun at Cabelas.

Does anybody have one? How do you like it?

Would you recommend any another semi over it (staying in the under $700 range)? I'll be using it primarily for Dove...with an occasional duck, pheasant and quail hunt.

Like the A300 solid shooters with light recoil

I own one, I think it's hard to beat for the price. I did a lot of research and ended up buying one about a year ago. Everyone that has shot mine has been impressed. Some have bought one immediately after.

Another great semi in the same price range is the Winchester SX-3. Really solid gun too.

They are good shotguns. I would own one if they fit me. Fit is more important than brand. If the A300 fits then get one. If not then don't. Try a SA-08, 930, Affinity and SX-3 along with the A300 and get the one that fits best. The SX-3 is probably a little than you want to spend.

You cannot go wrong with the A300. If you get the A300 avoid shooting your buddies A400 because then you will want one. When looking at it I question myself for selling the 300 and getting the 400. When I shoot it the reason is obvious.

I have one and it's a great gun. It fits me well and I've shot a little over 200 rounds of the cheap Walmart stuff without a hiccup.

Thanks for the info also, because I had been looking to get one also. I too like the a400.
