No paid hunts this year. Just whitetail, axis, hog, dove and predators.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

• West Texas Whitetail and Axis (first deer hunt since 2003) • Pheasant at Scattergun Lodge in Pierre, SD • Quail and Chukar at Walton Bird Ranch in Navasota, TX
The rest will be dove, quail, duck, geese, and hog/coyote eradication right here in south Texas on our own property.

I never have time to book hunts but have been blessed to have been drawn for Waco Lake, invited on a MLD hunt, my yearly excursions with my friend to his ranch, dove then deer, going to take the family to my property a few times, and have a dove lease as well as a few public land dove hunts with family. Maybe a few youth program hunts with my son if he draws any.
Grandpa Lee: lol... thats what I called my father's stepdad. How's the Walton Bird Ranch? I pass by Navasota often but never heard of it.
Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.

To be honest only one and that depends on the election. If Hillary win's I'll be gutting and guiding.
Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

Grandpa Lee: lol... thats what I called my father's stepdad. How's the Walton Bird Ranch? I pass by Navasota often but never heard of it. They do a great job out there. Quail, chukar, and pheasant. Usual clientele are from Houston. Prices are on par with most other bird ranchs and if you don't have your own dogs they have pretty good guides to get you over dogs. I highly recommend you book a hunt with them and see for yourself. Call Jody or Wes Tumlinson and I assure you that you will have a good time.

Tags Drawn: Alaska: Kuiu Island Black Bear Arizona: Unit 24B Coues Whitetail New Mexico: Muzzleloader Mule Deer Utah: Doe Pronghorn and Cow Elk
But have had to return the cow elk tag and will very likely not get to use the bear tag due to having a baby on the way and some serious logistical issues outstanding.
But have a fly fishing trip in Colorado in a few weeks too, so hunts in 3 new states for me and fishing in CO in a 3 month span should make for a pretty good year. Should get to chase a few extra species in Arizona and hopefully get my first Gambels quail.
