The few years I hunted in Nocona, it was hard to tell when the true rut was vs. the pre-rut signs. The deer were not as plentiful there as other places. When I hunted just South of Nocona in Montague, rut was about 1 week before Thanksgiving, and sometimes into Thanksgiving. It's hard to put an exact date on the timing. But it will be around that time.

He and I were on a lease in Comanche last year and the rut was in full swing the second week of Nov. I assumed Nacona being farther north it might be a week earlier. I know every year it seems to be a little different but sometime within the same week period or so. Thanks for your reply.
I've been hunting near Nocona Lake for three years now. Last year, the rut hit about the 2nd week and peaked 3rd week of November. I shot this buck on Nov 21st, which happened to be my wife's bday. Couldnt' believe she wanted to celebrate her bday at the lease. There's a 1st for everything.
