Yesterday AM I was heading to the house and saw two dove in the middle of the gravel driveway. They were the smallest dove I have ever seen. When they took off, there was definitely red/brown on their wings. Are these Inca dove? Do juvenile mourning dove have rust colored wings?

We are in northern Brown County. I just looked it up and apparently if they are Incas, they are do not shoot birds.

These birds were significantly smaller than the rest of the dove, but they were bigger than barn swallows.

Inca's and Ground doves look very much alike. The Inca's do have the rust color under their wings. I have 4 or 5 that come
to the bird feeders every day. Unless they fly I can't tell the 2 apart.

A clear conscience is often the sign of a fuzzy memory.

Used to only see Inca's down in the Valley when hunting white wings back in the early 80's

Now, like the white wing the Inca's are moving North
