Someday I'll work on audio but here's a coyote hunt from
last night. It was more of a pig hunt and we called it a night
after downing this big female yote.

Short video:

That's pretty awesome. Love the heat signature from the blood.

I upgraded mine to a MK III, 4.5X. I like it a lot. Just an fyi, in case you had considered it. Nice kill!

Yeah I'm thinking about getting the Mark III as well.
What exactly do you mean upgrade? Can I send in the Mark II
and have it upgraded or do you mean you acquired a Mark III
and sold your Mark II, or you added a Mark III to your collection?
The only con I have with the Mark II is turning on the video out
every time it's powered up. I've missed about 30% of video ops
by forgetting to do this. It has gotten better since I got the
external battery pack though cuz I can power up and not worry
about changing batteries for at least two six hour hunts. So
I'm not turning on and off everytime I want to glass the pasture.
I'm told the power pack will give me way more before a recharge
but I recharge after two nights out anyway.

Treeline is aprox 130 yards straight out in front and runs
to aprox 300 yards on the far left. The hay bale coyote shot was
close, 60 yards maybe 70. On videos, you can adjust contrast,
sharpness, focus, and there optimal settings to get the best
recorded video picture. I don't use those optimal settings.
I use what looks best to me for shooting. My bud who shot the
yote uses a Pulsar XD50A if I'm not mistaken. I don't know
if it's him or the Pulsar but he's always adjusting his focus.
But the Pulsar seems to function for the purpose we need it for,
and it's half the price or the IR MKII. But I can positively ID
a critter out at and beyond 200 yards and he has trouble with this.
Maybe it's his vision, I don't know.

You traveled a long ways for 1 yote. I grew up not far from there and we would see yotes, pigs, and deer everyday and night. It hasn't changed a lot, but we don't see near the animals.
