Ok so i think we have made significant progress in the woah dept. She very rarely breaks when i hit the whistle command for woah or say woah. My question is the proof is in the pudding when shes on birds. Other than place quail is there an alternative? Ive read in several books about moving back to woah post or what i call a cat walk. Then introducing a bird at a distance that she cannot catch it. And implementing the woah to this secenario. Is this an effective method yall have used? I really want to avoid the cardinal sin of her not being steady to point/shot. Some guidance from the thf experience would be greatly appreciated.

Jorge ------ watch this movie ---- my gsp holds till the shot --- my friend's setter is walking in on the birds,,, he had just finished telling the dog to whoa. Notice at the end my friend shouts 'good boy' at his setter. The point is, I think you will need to let your friends shoot and you work your elect collar during the hunt till your dog does whatever it is that you want. Yard training is a good start, but in hunting there are so many distractions -- other dogs, other hunters, other men talking to their dogs, etc, no matter how good the yard training you will probably need refinement while hunting.
I dont see how to put the movie, so I"Ll put the drop box link if you want to see it.
