With all the rain and temperature moderation is anyone moving their planting up to the beginning of September?

We're plowing as soon as it's dry enough, but will watch the weather/heat for a couple of weeks before we decide about planting.

As soon as fields dry out, planning on sowing several patches of oats. Wouldn't be able to plant anything but my tractor right now.

same here ... gonna take some time to dry out to where I can get into my plot areas for initial plowing (which I normally have done by now) ...

Was going to start plowing this weekend but that's out. Probably be at least 2 weeks before I can get in.

No way, I'll wait till the end of Sept. I've seen guys plant their wheat in early Sept or late August just to have it come up and burn up due to lack of more rain. And I've seen the Grasshoppers eat 1/2 of a field, and when they eat it, it don't come back.

My goal is to have my oats in by September 21, but will not worry as long as I can get them in by October 1st.

The only thing that will change for me is if it is too wet to disc Labor Day weekend. Since I bow hunt I try to have all my planting done by the middle of September to give things a couple of weeks to quiet down before the beginning of bow season.

Too early to tell if it will hold or it will get hot again. Most likely it will get hot again and anything planted too early will burn up if it doesn't rain again. I recommend waiting till mid to late September for the best results.
