So trying to hit up some public land and need some advise. Seems you can only have a stand up for 72hours, so those that hunt public which do you use. A blind or do you pack a stand in each time? I used to hunt from stands but we where aloud to keep them up all year, seems like a lot to do a stand on public land here so leaning toward the blind. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

I stalk and use a climbing tree stand. I think putting a stand up for a weekend might be tough to not spook while setting it up and also give time for deer to get used to it being there. Several use pop-up blinds.

Thank you, I can see where a stand would be not good.

I hunt on public land. You can't go wrong with a lock-on type stand and a set of climbing sticks. Depending on where you hunt, a climber can be hit or miss.
Quality and lighter weight stand are a little more expensive and well worth it. Look at Lone Wolf, you won't be disappointed.
I hunt out of the Assault II combined with a set of 4 climbing sticks. I also have the Alfa Tech stick quiver which AIDS in packing it all in.
If you leave it up overnight, lock it to the tree.

Ive never user sticks and strap on stand. Always climber. I 100% agree with weight tho. I have a cheap academy climber thats almost 30lbs. That with all my other gear makes for a long drag out. I will definitwly be looking into sticks and a strap on stand.
