I had an opportunity to fish the Gunnison River outside of Crested Butte with my son last week. It was his first fly trip ever and my first trout/river trip. We had a blast. He out-fished me, 8-6. We caught a nice mixture of rainbows and browns.

His first fish:

Fish on!

The big fish of the day. It went close to 20":

Wow, what a day. That's awesome. When my boy was about 10 I took him along on a business trip and we fished Lee's Ferry, Utah, using green wooly buggers. I cooked his first trout in a foil pack over a campfire with a splash of beer, lemon, salt and pepper. He's pushing 30 now and still talks about that as the "best fish he's ever had."

Good stuff and great pics. Love the Gunny and the area around Almont. Some great private water over on the East River too.
