I have a Corn Feeder and was woundering if anyone has ever tried mixing Record Rack Pellets (or other types of pellets) in with their corn in one? If so how do it do? Did it global your feeder when it rained or cast out just fine? Also, if so don you think it helped your heard any? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

We mixed it one year. Fed from January to the first of October with a 50/50 mix of record rack and corn. Had some really good bucks on cameras during that time. When we went to straight corn the first of October all of the bucks just disappeared. Don't know if it was the record rack or something else but the older bucks quit hitting the feeders. Never had a problem with it clogging a feeder but that was during the drought and we weren't getting any rain.

You could try roasted soybeans mixed in with your corn. My friends have had good results with getting mature bucks to come to the feeders during the daytime so I am going to mix some in this week. I picked up a couple of 50# bags of the stuff from Waller Rice Drier in Waller Texas off of 290. They also flavor corn, have all kinds of stuff to add and will make mixes for you. I will post an update on how well it works for me. Hope this helps you out. Here's their website. http://wallerricedrier.com/

I feed 50/50 mix of corn and protein (mainly Angelo Pellets) year round out of 8 feeders now. Been doing this for years, with minimal problems.

I have found that if you use regular spinners ( I used to use the stainless rectangular ones with flaps on the ends), you'll have a higher chance of blockage at the spinner over time.

I started using Eliminators (round) due to my coon problem. I have found that my blockage problems have become minimal to nonexistent. If I had to guess, I think its because the Eliminator sits flush with the bottom spout on my barrels, whereas, the normal spinners had a gap where the corn/protein is exposed from the spout.

Hope this helps.

I have done it both ways and have learned the secret. If you have a standard three legged feeder with a standard barrel lid it WILL NOT work. Condensation builds up creating moisture allowing the protien to swell up and eventually clogging your feeder. I have a buddy who feeds 50/50 mixture year round however he has a galvanized lid that hangs over the outside of the barrel about three inches and never has any issues.
The lid allows the barrel to breathe and prevents the protein from swelling. This may not be the only solution but I know it works.
Hope this helps.
