It is time to open a new batch of brass for my creedmoor.
My questions are this.
1. What will need to be done on hornady brass (same as other Size, trim load) 2. stick with my current load or try new load work up.

The long range guys might have more valuable opinions, but these days I'll run new brass through a Lee Collet Die (to reduce runout) and then trim it with my RCBS trim pro with the 3 cut head. And normally I buy only Norma and Lapua these days.

I do the same thing with the collet die because new brass often has dented or out of round mouths. I don't trim until after the first firing, though. The length will change slightly when fireforming.

Winchester, Remington, Federal, Hornady I run them through a FL sizer, which tends to to not touch the shoulder, only rounds the neck.
Trim, chamfer, debur, debur the flash hole.
Nosler, Norma, Lapua brass I'd just load them.

Sorry to hijack your thread, thought this may be a good question in relation to this post. What would be the difference between the collet die and Redding Type S and Competition dies?

Collet die is fixed while the s die uses a bushing allowing the user to regulate neck tension.

Nosler, Norma, Lapua brass I'd just load them. I received some Nosler brass just the other day that had distorted mouths. Not many, but a few of them would have made problems. I think it was .280, but could have been .30-06.

That means I'll be having to at least neck size Nosler the next time I open a box. Just can't count on anything anymore, but death and taxes.

Well hold on a minute...I guess I should mention it was bulk brass that I bought, a couple of bags of 100 each. I think I bought it from Graf's, but I'm not sure due to chronic CRS. I've never actually bought a box of Nosler brass so I don't even know how it's packed.

It's packed pretty carefully to prevent distortion.

I always run my new brass through a sizing die, just to round the case mouth and provide equal neck tension. Regardless of the manufacturer, there will always be at least a few pieces that are out of round enough to cause me headaches when I chamfer on a powered unit.

Am I safe to assume my old load same brand of brass should be good to go?

Not a guarantee. Of same brand and type chances are yes though.
