now tell the freekin truth,

I keep a Springfield XDM 9mm in my bedside table, a Taurus 85 .38 in my console and a Kimber Micro Carry .380 in my pocket. I rarely, pick them up, drop the mag, rack a round out, exercise the slide, wipe down, re lube, re-load

do you do it? be honest

I know I should probably do it once a week or go "all revolver" scared

I keep my S&W Shield in 9 mm next to the bed, in my truck, and inside my waistband.

A traditionalist, I keep a Mossberg 500 at hand. Extended magazine, 18" barrel, side-saddle ammo carrier, Hogue rubberized stock, #4 buck and slugs, loaded alternately.

It ought to do...

Kind regards, charlesb

I keep a youth model 870 beside the bed and haven't picked it up in months. My wife probably picks it up out of the corner a couple of times a week to vacuum. It's loaded with #4's and I hope to never need it.

^yep, clean it probably one a month, shoot about once a month, and dry fire a couple of times a week.

G22 with TLR-1 on night stand and G27 in my waist band. Yes I work them run through reloading drills and dry fire. I also swap out the loaded mags with extra empty mags after about 6 months. I shoot them both and I do not clean them really just a wipe down every now and then.

My night stand gun is a variant of one of my EDC pistols, so I rarely feel inclined to take it along as well. I'd say it gets out about twice a year. That is about the only time it gets cleaned, lubed, or reloaded.

Not like I should unfortunately. The one weapon I count on more than any others gets neglected too often. I just take it for granted, because it's always on me, and tends to be an afterthought at the end of the day. I'll usually clean it when I notice an excess of lint and dust built up in the action. This needs to change! Thanks for the reminder!

I clean every gun I own after I every time I take them out, for the most part. Especially pistols & BCG's on AR's. Bolt guns not so much until 300-500 rounds after properly broke in. I see no reason to clean a bedside LTC gun very often. Maybe blow the dust/lint off/out but see no need to clean when it hasn't gotten dirty. confused2

Glock 23 with TLR2 in the nightstand that gets cycled and dry fired weekly, shot monthly.
Glock 43 on the hip that gets cycled every 1-3 days and dry fired, shot monthly.
Protech CQC7 auto in pocket that gets deployed daily, multiple times per day (i like the snap noise)

Admittedly, I have gotten out of shape and lazy. I should really be learning CQB skills with my fists, knives, and guns and taking more defensive pistol classes. But Ive been training for an eating competition so that takes up most of my time.

My Mossberg 590 stays next to my bed and it gets wiped down maybe twice a year. My carry pistols (duty and off duty) get a quick wipe down about once a month. If I have to get out in rainy weather, my on duty pistol gets wiped down more often.

Ruger Sp101 357 mag, just wipe it down after shooting. The thing is built like a tank and has never disappointed. Holds 5-158gr JHP's with enough muzzle flash to give sunburn.
