I did for years until I retired my Grandaddy's old gun. I could reload the old side by side and have four or six shots off as fast as I could reload and get that many shots with my autos with gloves and all that.

Over/Unders are the mark of a true 'gentleman' hunter. Using any other type of gun is just....crude.

I use a 12ga ugartechea choked cyl and IC. Bismuth early season and hw13 late season. This will be the first season to use hw13 in it. I may even shoot it with #6 steel for teal season.
Cylinder for the birds about to land, IC for the birds on the way out after the first shot.
Thought for the day: Ducks were almost hunted to extinction long before camo was invented.

Cylinder for the birds about to land, IC for the birds on the way out after the first shot. Most hunters over choke their duck loads because never pattern guns. I have stoned big ducks 40 yards out w cylinder and heavy metal #3s

I shoot a browning cynergy 20ga for dove, but I'll take it out for duck when I know I'm sitting someplace it won't be caked in mud. Which is almost never.

Over/Unders are the mark of a true 'gentleman' hunter. Using any other type of gun is just....crude. an English-stocked SXS w/splinter fore grip and perhaps a leather hand guard is the proper upland gun... 20ga max... 28ga better and the 32ga is a rare piece known only by a few... O/U's are just clunky.... large pistol grips and a fire-log fore-grip... they're just too much mass....

Shooting a CZ Bobwhite SXS 20ga, English style straight stock, hammerless and double triggers. Use it for dove and upland, also use it when hunting ducks off the tanks. The SXS is the ORIGNINAL gentlemen's gun.... period. Its the foundation on which bird hunting as we know it started.

I've got a WW Greener 12ga SxS boxlock and WC Scott bar action hammer gun that see the field. Both over 100yrs old and both made in Birmingham. One day I'll step up to the London guns. I'm considering installing new barrels in the WC Scott to be able to shoot steel.

I'm lefty and heard they were cast for righty's but I guess I can steam it and maybe bring it back to my side... they are sweet looking at a fraction of the price of fine doublegun.
