Nice kills.
There is a method to get a very close approximate weight. You just put a measuring tape around the pigs chest. There is a chart that tells you approx weight compared to size of chest. It is usually correct wishing a few lbs. Just an idea.

Nice couple of wide bodies.

Thanks Sapper. I'll look into that formula and try to remember it next time. If you happen to know it off top your head let me know. If not I can do the research. Thanks again

Thanks Sapper. I'll look into that formula and try to remember it next time. If you happen to know it off top your head let me know. If not I can do the research. Thanks again If you carry a cloth tape with you...you can use the 'Heart Girth' method of estimating the 'live weight' of a hog. The tape is wrapped around the circumference of the hog....placed tight behind the front legs and the measurement taken. The actual 'formula' is: HG (Heart Girth) X 10.1709 minus 205.7492, BUT...most of us round that off for sake of simplicity and just take the tape measurement (HG) times 10, minus 200. Example: Your hog tapes out at 44 inches. You take that measurement times 10 (=440 lbs.) minus '200lbs' (that figure is always a constant), gives you 240 lbs. for your estimate.I have used this method for many years and have weighed hogs on a scale to check the accuracy. It has always been pretty close. The exception being pregnant Sows or hogs is poor condition.
Spartans ask not...how many, but where!

Oh yeah for sure the bigger one with cutters was actually a bar. Not sure if he was born without his boys or got injured. But I found him sleeping in a creek about 50 yards from a protein feeder and I doubt he ever traveled far from that feeder. My sling hangs 15 inches on him and covers about half his side. I would put money he was over 300 easy. The first hog I'm guessing like 225-250. Of course no matter how sure I am these are just guesses since they never hit the scale. Either way equaled up to large amount of sausage, porkchops and I use all the scrap meat to make my own dog food. I tend to over trim my meat cause I'm picky about amount of fat and tendons and veins in my meat. but I did get a lot of fat to freeze to grind and mix with my deer this fall for burgers.

This is the second hog with nice cutters. I took the picture about a minute after I shot him so he's not bloated he was just so fat that his legs would not even touch each other when he payed on his side.
