When y'all move to a new lot of powder do you just keep the same charge and check for pressure signs? Should I back off a little and come back up? H4350 is what I'm running, not sure if some powders are more consistent than others, lot to lot.

Lot to Lot, H4350 and Varget are one of the worst for lot to lot consistencies. Lately, H4350 has had a huge change in what I used to run a few years ago. The powder seems to be running slower burning, requiring more powder to equal the old speeds and pressures. I would 100% verify your load, and treat the new lot as a new powder. You are not "starting over" per se, but you will want to load up some test loads around the powder charge you previously had with the new lot. What is the last 4 numbers on your powder lot? I have about 3-4 lots of H4350 in stock now with notes on all of them.

The lot numbers on the 8# jugs are on an orange sticker on the side of the container.

My recent lot of Varget is a good but slower (50fps) than my last lot with the same charge but has shot lights out (like .5 moa out to 1000yds) so I'm just gonna run it.

I'll usually back off a grain or so and work back up. Had some IMR4831 years ago that when I went to a new lot I just put the same amount in. Results were groups when the heck. Ended up having to load up an additional 1.5 grains or so to get the same groups. Next batch, I backed off 2 grains and had the same groups as the last lot. I've seen the same thing in IMR4350 lots as well as Varget. Hence, I buy 8# of the stuff so I don't have to fiddle with it as much. I don't load anywhere near the quantity as Chad does, just use the powders for multiple cartridges.

I got a new powder lot. Had to drive 500 miles one way to happen into these. Had been checking all the usual places in Texas no luck just wandered into a store in Jackson, Ms and lucked out.

As Chad mentioned, I've also seen H-4350 "slow down".
6.5 Creedmoor, 140 A-Max old charge 42.4 gr, yield 2800 fps
New powder lot I tested:
42.0 42.2 42.4 42.6 42.8 43.0
Best shooting charge was 42.8 gr and it yields 2800 fps MV.

Yes, get the 8# jugs if you can. It's worth it.

No one has the jugs for the H4831SC, if anyone finds some, give me a holler.
