First year hunting Sabine County. I have been in Eastland County for over 20 years but the landowner past away so I found a place in Sabine County. How is the white tail population in that area? The area is some very nice country just curious if someone has some insight? Thanks in advance for your help.

rickym what do you see me being in shock about? Eastland county near Cisco had been pretty tough for me on my lease. Over hunted in my opinion. I got a deer a year usually and all the hogs I wanted. I would love a little more feedback if you are anyone has any. Not sure what I am getting myself into.

Most of east texas is generally over hunted. Where i hunt in ne texas im lucky to see a handful of deer all season. The deer are nocturnal year round, alot of the best spots are in thick deep woods where you have a shooting lane and sometimes only have a moment to figure out if a deer is legal and pull the trigger. This isnt how it is everywhere but most places ive hunted have been that way. Deer dont come to corn like they do in other parts of the state cause theres typically plenty to eat. Find trails and hunt those not your feeder

Great feedback! Thanks a lot. The way you described the woods is exactly where I am hunting deep woods with shooting lanes. Hunting trails is great advise. Thanks again!

Hi neighbor. I am in Jack county not in an area with tons of oaks connecting to 10s of thousands of acres of it and I also do not get the deer to the feeders during the daylight. They are not over hunted i dont feel just that they have too much other food and only wonder to the feeders at night.

Thanks for your input ktk120! If anyone else has experience hunting this area your feedback will be greatly appreciated. I haven't had a chance to meet the other hunters on the place yet so I am just trying to some digging on my own. My son will be on leave in the Army during the holidays this year so I want to get everything dialed in so he can have some successful deer and hog hunts.
