Maybe they should print a special "East Texas" version using smaller words and more pictures. A couple of pop-ups would be nice too. Aww, who am I kidding. Most folks in East Texas don't follow that book anyway.

That hurts, we East Texas boys aren't all bad. I have been checked so many times by so many game wardens I don't dare do anything out of line. When my daughter was in high school I had friends that would not come to my house since they saw a wardens truck in my driveway every few days. Thats what happens when your daughter and the GW's daughter are best friends. Now some of the folks I went to school with are a different story though.

Is that Van Zant county? If it is then does can be taken during archery season and Thanksgiving day through the sSunday after Thanksgiving, November 24 -27 are your 4 days.
That is what I got from a quick skim

I like the changes to Red River county, We can now hunt does during bow season, first two weeks of rifle season and now even a muzzle loader season after the first of the year. A whole lot better than just 4 days in November.

Any one else notice that the special late season is the same exact dates as the late "youth only season"?
Thank You Robert

I think youth can continue to shoot branched bucks, spikes, or does but the rest of us are limited to does and spikes during that time. OK, I live in Moore County which is the North Zone. I updated my app on my phone and looked at hunting seasons by county. Here in Moore County Late youth Season begins 1/2/2017 and runs through 1/15/2017, and it states bag limit to be one buck and two antler-less all seasons combine. No Special hunting season is mentioned for Moore County. On the Texas Parks and Wild Life web site it states that the Late youth season and special late season run 1/2/2016 - 1/15/2016, in the North Zone. However in the south zone the Late Youth Season remains the same, but the special late season runs from 1/16/2017 to 1/29/2017, with no description of what game can be taken in the late season. Ether way it looks like we do not have a special late season in Moore County, so it will be a true Youth Only Season.
Thank You Robert

Here you go: antlerless deer may be taken without permits from Thanksgiving Day through the Sunday immediately following Thanksgiving Day, (Nov. 24-27).

I have had stands and feeders messed with, parts stollen and my stands hunted. On my old place had to run trespassers off almost every year. Road hunters and folks dropping off dogs to run the property. Now I put up smaller lock on stands up around 20' and don't have as much of a problem.
