Dang. Good try, but takes me to the same place. I will hit up Cabelas on my way home.

I just want to know why they charge the convince few fee, and is it really going to wildlife and conservation, or is it profit for the website company?

The retailer gets a portion of your normal license purchase, so why is online getting an extra fee

It is my understanding that it is profit for the website company.

And I was right. Went last night and they were lost. But I can't blame them too much. It was about 9:00 and the regular license guy had left.
I'll try again today at lunch.

It took 3 Customer Service Reps and a Manager almost 25 minutes but I'm good to go.
The Reps didn't even know about Lifetime Licenses and the Manager said she had only done about six in ten years. Linking up the Federal stamp was the hardest part.
Glad it was slow and it became a learning experience for newbies.

Anyone have them add sand crane to your license. They never can find the place to select sand crane on the license. End up carrying two license. One super combo and one sand crane.

I am debating going ahead and getting the lifetime Hunting and Fishing License since i'm only 24 and I know I will hunt every year I can. Am I reading correctly that the Lifetime Hunting license covers me for archery and migratory game birds as well? I typically Dove, bow, rifle hunt and want to make sure I won't have to purchase the additional endorsements each year.

It covers you for all state stamps (including state migratory), but it does not include federal stamps (migratory and sandhill crane). But, the crane permit is free.

Unless something changed, you have to get the crane permit at a law enforcement office, online, or by phone. The state and feds use the number of permits issued as an index to the number of crane hunters. When the permit was available at walmart, academy, etc., since it was free, the vendors were just giving the permit to everybody whether they requested it or not and this artificially inflated the number of crane hunters.

Ordered mine on Wednesday and got it in the mail on Friday. Easy peasy and much quicker than going to Academy, Cabelas, or Lord forbid, having to deal with the Walmartians.
