If someone has and loads for a .260, is it wrong, stupid or normal to want Creedmmor and 6.5x47 and 6.5x55 and whatever else 6.5 pops into view?

Sounds pretty normal to me. I think there's enough 6.5 folks here to form a support group. When you start feeling a little guilty about buying another one, we'll be here to nudge you along in the right direction. It's not so much a want as it is a need when you're talking 6.5's. You can't have too many.

To me it would depend on if you have all the other bases covered; small varmint, BIG game, etc...I'm not to where I'd want a LOT of similar calibers but can definitely see a 6.5 Creedmoor and a Grendel.

It depends on what your gun budget is. I can't afford to buy a gun anytime I want, so I'd never overlap. Too many other gun needs for me.

Right now I have a couple of 260s and a 6.5X47L. Love 'em all.

As mentioned, as long as you have your bases covered with other calibers...go for it.

I think it's really redundant. But if you want to, go for it. It's your money

I have 2 6.5CM, one for the wife and one for the son. It's much easier to load for both at the same time. I still shoot the ol 308 myself

I think it's really redundant. But if you want to, go for it. It's your money Agreed. Look at what happens after the trigger is squeezed. What are you gaining from one to the other? When I shot a .260 I ran a 140 gr A-Max out of a 24" barrel at 2800 fps MV. Now that I have a 6.5 Creedmoor I'm still shooting a 140 gr A-Max, out of a 25" barrel, and making 2800 fps MV. So down range nothing has changed. 6.5 X 47 makes less velocity, with a 140 gr, but the brass lasts the longest, and it tends to produce the most consistent shot to shot external ballistics, i.e. very low extreme spread. I plan to build a couple for my daughters. Recoil will be mild, small rifle primer, and crazy consistent makes me want them for the girls. Me, I'll just rechamber my next barrel for 6.5 Creedmoor again, since I know it so well, and it has done everything I've asked it to do.

Get the basics covered then the rest is want more toys. Went through a long stage of wanting more toys and have 4 different 6.5s 6.5X54, Grendel, 6.5X284 and 264WM which covers the 6.5s pretty well IMO.

Also there is some data that shows reading wind is more important than velocity gains.
I am lowering my rifle count to a few select ones and trying to work with them more

I've had a 6.5x55 for a long time. I'd like a 6.5 SAUM or 26 Nosler bolt action and AR's in 6.5 Grendel and 6.5 Creedmoor. Don't need them but really want them bad.

I have the 6.5 Grendel. Wouldn't mind a 6.5 Creedmoore.

I have two 6.5 CMs and a 6.5X55 Swede...and I love all three. My first 6.5 CM was a semi custom that is still the most accurate rifle I own. My second is on an AR platform and as for accuracy it is definitely no slouch! I am not really sure about buying another one. I have what I need to hunt anything in the continental US so now I am considering/toying with improving my 243 and 22-250. I believe I will always have a 6.5 CM...its became a love affair...

In a bolt action, I've got a 6.5 Creedmoor and 6.5-06 along with a spare 6.5 Creedmoor and 260 AI barrels. In an AR, I have a 6.5x6.8 and 260 Remington. I think I have the 6.5's pretty covered.

The only time you have 'too many' of any firearm is when you run out of room in the safe. Then again, that's not a problem of too many firearms, that's a storage problem!
