My favorite is the Aimpoint T1. How can you not like 50,000hrs of battery life?
My next favorite is probably the MRO.

My next favorite is probably the MRO. The PRO advertises 6 years or battery life, that's roughly 52,000 hours, and much cheaper

I have a Vortex Sparq II that I really like. I like my red dot sights to be as small and light as possible and I'm not gonna spend $600 on a T1.

We have the mro that we purchased directly from larue with a qd mount for $500. Only shot it a few times but I really like. Noticeably better than the vortex strike whatever; doesn't have a tint to it like the vortex does, dot is crisper and I really like the fact that it brightness dial has an off position located next to the 3 setting as well.
I'm a dude who likes long barrels!

My next favorite is probably the MRO. The PRO advertises 6 years or battery life, that's roughly 52,000 hours, and much cheaper I thought the PRO is 30000hrs, T1 is 50000hrs, and Comp is 80000hrs. Pretty nuts. If I were putting on a full size rifle Id probably go with PRO since its lower cost.

I only know it changed because I installed one for a friend and the instructions said 6 years, I thought that was pretty good compared to the older ones

I only know it changed because I installed one for a friend and the instructions said 6 years, I thought that was pretty good compared to the older ones Interesting. I'm wondering if it was a typo or wrong instructions included. Seems like if Aimpoint had truly doubled the battery life of the Pro they would want to update their website, market it, and have all their vendors update manufacturer specs. If I were your friend I'd be contacting Aimpoint. I'd be less concerned about 3 vs 6 year battery life and more concerned about authenticity. Chinese fakes are really good these days but one thing they seem to mess up alot on is wording on boxes and instructions. A friend of mine used to buy a bunch of bootleg DVDs from China in college and the quality of DVD was perfect and they would always try to duplicate the DVD cover and content. They would almost always have mispelled or mistranslated words on the covers.

Before you go red dot, look into the Vortex Strike Eagle 1x6. It is an excellent optic and you get 1X for like a red dot but have availability to magnify if needed. I have one on a rock river and I absolutely love it.

Vortex Sparc II, works great for a budget shooter like myself.
