Is it OK to leave the FX 120 scale and Chargemaster in the garage where its 95 to 98 degrees at times? Manuals say to keep the scales away from heat. My wife wants my scales out of the home office, lol. She don't want me to weigh powders in there. So need a place to do my charges, so its the garage.

I guess I'm fortunate to have always had my bench in a spare bedroom. If my wife insisted on moving it all out to the garage there would be a disagreement and I would not comply.

Let me preface this by saying I don't own and have never even seen one of these particular scales, but I work with similar devices in the medical field and know how they function. These highly precise instruments are manufactured to work in a stable environment at a preset temperature. They will still function at other temps, but you lose some of the built-in accuracy. I think that's a function of how a load plate works. For reloading, you're probably not talking about enough variation to make much difference. There is also going to be a max operating temp for the device (check the owner's manual) and 98* F will be getting pretty close. Storage temps are usually much higher than operating temps.

Found the manual online for the FX-120i. Optimal temperature (where you'll have the best accuracy) is 68* and maximum is 104*. 104 is pretty darn high for a precision instrument. Is this thing typically used for weighing something in a harsh environment?

I might keep it stored out there but I wouldn't use it out there. Bring that stuff in and use it on the kitchen table then take it out when you're done using it. #scenecontrol (I did that because B-I-L hates hashtags)

I tried using my Chargemaster in my garage when I first got it. It walked all over the place. So now I keep it in its original box on a top shelf in my closet. When I'm ready to reload, I'll set it up on my dining room table. It's a pain in the butt for sure, but it keeps it out of the way and reduces any erroneous readings. I just take a load block and fill cases, then walk them to the garage to seat bullets.

Finally the wife gives in to my demands to fill charges in my office. Will be keeping both scales in there as well. After filling, I will seat bullets in my garage with my fan on and garage door open. I do all my case prep out there as well.
