Guys,
I'm curious what effect you believe it would have on accuracy for me to go to the range and shoot the rounds for a new load for my .243? The rifle is just a hunting rifle.
Thanks,

Heat, no doubt, effects the barrel, and effects the groups. But if you shoot slow and only a few (3-6 rounds) rounds at a time and cool the barrel between groups, it will be fine. I have to dial in multiple rifles in the heat, and I keep a cool, moist towel wrapped around the barrel to cool it off between strings.
If you want to shoot 10-20 shot strings all at once on an unbedded, hunting rifle with a thin barrel, shots will certainly begin to walk around on you.

I agree with Chad, but I also make an effort to use as many temperature insensitive powders (Varget, etc) as I can for my various calibers/loads, especially in Texas with the drastic temp swings from season to season. I believe it's a safer bet too.

^^I agree with these two^^
Also, load testing it 100 degree weather is a good thing. If it doesn't over-pressure now, it never will. Work up a stout load in 50 degree weather and it might cause troubles for you in 100 degree weather.

I'll post up some groups yesterday from a semi-custom Tikka build in 6.5-06 that shot near same hole at 200 yards!
