Everything that I have read says they are okay as long as you add an external IR light. I have thought about purchasing one myself, but have to many other projects.

I'm looking to upgrade my NV capabilities but don't want to be hindered during the day. My option has been narrowed to the Nightvision Clip-On X Riflescope System by Armasight. It seems to fit my budget and is practical for what I need. I need a NV scope that can be added to my already scoped AR so that I can use my rifle during the day and a clip on at night. My question is: has anyone used this combination and what objective lens size do I need on my scope? (That said: perhaps y'all can assist with another NV option with a $1,500 limit)
